Definition of Term

hypocercal
(english) Caudal fin shape in which the lower lobe is larger and often more posteriorly directed than the upper lobe. Asymmetrical externally as well as internally, e.g. Pteraspides (fossil). (See also: caudal fin, diphycercal, heterocercal)
hypocerque
(french) Forme de la nageoire caudale où le lobe inférieur est plus grand que le lobe supérieur et souvent dirigé plus vers l'arrière. (See also: caudal fin, diphycercal, heterocercal)
hipocérquical
