Definition of Term

echo sounding
(english) Determination of the depth of water by measuring the time interval between emission of a sonic or ultrasonic signal and the return of its echo from the bottom. (See also: acoustics, echo, sonar)
écho-sondage
(french) Détermination de la profondeur de l'eau en mesurant l'intervalle de temps entre émission d'un signal sonique ou ultrasonique et le retour de son écho du fond. (See also: acoustics, echo, sonar)
sonar de eco
(portuguese) Determinação das profundidades medindo o tempo que medeia entre a emissão sonora ou ultra-sonora e a percepção da sua chegada ao receptor após reflexão no fundo oceânico. (See also: acoustics, echo, sonar)
