Definition of Term

feral
(english) Organism that escaped from domestication and reverted to wild state but remains distinct from other wild species; examples are the wild horses and burros of the West and the wild goats and pigs of Hawaii; fish regularly escape from aquaculture enterprises and may interfere with wild species. May infect farmed fish with diseases, interbreed with wild stocks, or dominate ecosystems. (See also: aquaculture, exotic species, introduced species)
sauvage
(french) Organisme qui s'est échappé de domestication et est revenu à l'état sauvage mais qui reste distinct d'autre espèce sauvage; les exemples sont les chevaux du milieu naturel et les ânes de l'Ouest et les chèvres du milieu naturel et les cochons de Hawaïi; des poissons s'échappent régulièrement des entreprises de l'aquaculture et peut perturber les espèces sauvages.
