Definition of Term

genotype
(english) The set of alleles at one or more loci in an organism; the entire set of genes carried by an individual; the genetic constitution of an organism as distinguished from its physical appearance. A term not recognized by the Code, formerly used for type species, but that should not now be used in zoological nomenclature. (See also: Code, phenotype, allele)
génotype
(french) Ensemble des allèles à un ou plus de locus dans un organisme ; ensemble des gènes portés par un individu ; constitution génétique d'un organisme comme distinct de son apparence physique. Terme non reconnu par le Code (espèce-type d'un genre). (See also: Code, phenotype, allele)
genótipo
(portuguese) O conjunto dos alelos num ou mais loci dum organismo; o conjunto total dos genes dum indivíduo;a constituição genética dum indivíduo áparte o seu aspecto físico. Termo não reconhecido pelo Código, usado para designar tipo de espécies mas que não deve ser mais usado na nomenclatura zoológica. (See also: Code, phenotype, allele)
