Branchiostegal rays: 6; total first dorsal rays 9-11; pelvic fin rays: 6-8; gas glands 2; yolk sac and early pre-anal fin formation stage larvae with ventral blotch at midtail; pigment along the dorsal and ventral margins of tail in late pre-anal fin formation stage through anal fin formation stage. Pigmentation: Yolk-sac: on snout, brain; posterior to eye; on lower jaw, nape; over cleithrum; above and scattered on lateral surface of gut; on pectoral fin base; blotch ventrally at midtail; scattered near end of tail. Pre-anal fin formation: expanding on operculum and lateral surface of gut; spreading anteriorly from end of tail; midtail patch spreads until gaps at both sides filled by about 12.5 mm BL; by about 15 mm BL, along dorsal and ventral tail margins and expanding on lateral surface of tail anteriorly. Anal-fin formation: evenly spaced along dorsal and ventral tail margins. Sequence of fin development: pelvics, first dorsal, anal and second dorsal and pectorals.
