Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal spines (total): 4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5. Preserved color brownish yellow, darker dorsally; snout and interorbital space darkest; all fins pale. Large head without sensory folds. Broad, irregular snout with small epidermal nodules and raised spots. Rim or lid of eyes very narrow and gelatinous. Lips broad and thick; uninterrupted groove behind lower lip, continuous across chin and around corner of mouth. 11 scales between nape and dorsal. Scales rather large with concentric striae.
