Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 62; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 53; Vertebrae: 66. Caudal fin -rays 8; pectoral girdle with 2 radials; eye low on side of head, suborbital space equal to half of eye; mouth oblique, lower jaw included; teeth strong, conical; chin pores not in a pit; dorsal end of gill opening on horizontal through eye center; pectoral with long lobes, rudimentary notch rays absent; HL 19% SL, preanal 37% SL; anus on vertical just behind eye; color bright reddish-brown, end of tail darker, blackish-brown; skin thin, semitransparent; mouth and tongue blackish-brown, brightly dotted (Ref. 42734).
