Description Rises in a lake in the mountains of Kurdistan, Turkey; flows SSE through Baghdad, Iraq; unites with the Euphrates in SE Iraq to form the Shatt-al-Arab. Its tributaries include the Great Zab, Little Zab, and Diyala (Ref. 6318).
