This species has the following characters: pigmented body; functional eyes; dorsal fin base 14.4-19.4% of SL; origin of adipose fin anterior to the anus; maxillary barbels extend beyond pelvic fin origin; adipose fin insertion equidistant between the dorsal fin and caudal fins; head length 20.8-23.4% of SL; adipose fin base 36.0-45.7% of SL; outer mental barbels extend to the posterior margin of the pectoral-fin rays; no lateral longitudinal band (Ref. 108688).
