Africa: Alima and Likouala River drainages (middle Congo River basin) in Republic of Congo (Ref. 94189). Reports of Hylopanchax stictopleuron from other parts of the central Congo basin and the upper Ivindo River (Ref. 59344) are misidentifications of other Hylopanchax species (Ref. 94189).
