Source: saw fishermen catch the fish
Remark: A newly introduced species, also found in Nanyang Technological University pond, possibly elsewhere. May have been imported as fry to use as fish food for Luohan / flower horn cichlids in the aquarium trade. Locally it grows to over 2 feet in length. This species may have caused the extinction of the only native fish species in this canal: Mystus gulio (locally called 'baung' catfish).
