背棘 (总数): 6; 背的软条 (总数): 34-41; 臀棘 1; 臀鳍软条: 32 - 39; 脊椎骨: 27. Eyes rudimentary but distinct, covered by skin. Mouth oblique. Several short barbels may be present on underside of chin. Pectoral -fin rays free and silk-like. Three anal fin pterygiophores preceding first haemal spine. Cycloid scales embedded on head and body. Caudal fin very long (Ref. 45323).
Occurs in coastal waters and estuaries (Ref. 4833).
