Anal
spines: 0. Eyes relatively small, less than snout length in diameter. Chin barbel absent. Pectoral and pelvic fins reaching beyond level of anal fin origin.
Found in the continental slope (Ref. 1371). Many specimens taken from a whale stomach (Ref. 1371). Gut content of a 3.86 cm SL specimen contained a large number of grasping spines of arrow worms (Chaetognatha spp.), while a 4.01 cm SL specimen contained 6 individuals of the copepod Metridia pacifica (Ref. 87085).
