Short description

Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 0; Anal soft rays: 227 - 303; Vertebrae: 79 - 80. Numerous dark oblique bands on body (23-51, usually over 30), alternating with pale bands. Distance between tip of pectoral fin and origin of anal fin more than one pectoral fin length (rare, even).
